Isaiah 2:1-5  37  151  500
The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2And it shall come to
pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the
mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3And many people
shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of
Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth
the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4And he shall judge among the nations, and
shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into
pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5O
house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

In the end, Jerusalem will be THE city. People from all nations will flock there to learn about God.
Obedience from all nations will ensue. The Lord will be the government and judge. By following His
leadership there will be peace on earth.
However, this aint now! Now Judah is rotten
Isaiah 2:6-8
Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the
east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also
full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots: 8Their land also is full of idols; they worship
the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

Judah is enjoying the fruits of people around them, casting off God’s limits and becoming worldly.
They are rich and they celebrate what their hands make. God is gone.
Before this time of the Lord’s Reign as King, comes a time of judgment
Isaiah 2:10-12
Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and
the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every
one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Pride is a sure sign of being unregenerate. All proud people will be hiding in caves.
Isaiah 2:17-22
And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and
the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 18And the idols he shall utterly abolish. 19And they shall
go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the
glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols
of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to
the bats; 21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the
LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 22Cease ye from
man [stop esteeming men], whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

God’s day of Judgment is coming, the Day of the Lord. Evil people will be smashed, so stop glorying
in people! People breathe and the only reason is because God gave them breath. Glory in the Lord.

Millennium--a thousand years of peace that Christians like to fight about.
Premillennialism--the view that Jesus Christ will return to earth before His thousand year reign--the
Millennial Kingdom. Christ reigns over a Golden Age but is still tainted because it’s still on a fallen
earth. Satan loosed at the end, one more rebellion, God qipes it out and starts over with new heaven
and earth.
Postmillennialism--thousand years is figurative, signifying a long time. Kingdom may be here all ready
and that the Kingdom of God will gradually overthrow Satan’s kingdom on earth and then Christ will
return. They view most of End Times prophecy as already fulfilled. Christ comes after a Golden Age
on earth. Roman Catholic, Roman Empire
Amillennialism--there is no thousand year literal, physical reign of Christ on earth. Thousand years is
figurative. A heavenly reign. Church age is the millennial kingdom. Christ returns before new heaven
and new earth.

Revelation 19:11-21--second coming of Christ is followed by 20:1-8 which is describing an age on
earth. Last rebellion--if man ruined the first Eden, they can ruin the second one. Human nature is
corrupt, it cannot go on, it will always fall until it has been completely removed.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18--this is comfort to the believer

Wrap up with Revelation 20:11-15--it is warning to everyone else.
How do you know which one you are? The same way God does--Based on works--without faith it is
impossible to please Him. Jesus said, “Without me you can do nothing.” Every branch in the vine of
Christ bears fruit.
The works are not religious works (Isaiah 1), He is looking for love for God and love for others.
