Jeremiah 8:7-9
Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the
swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.
8How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made
he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. 9The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and
taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

People who actually have revelation from God are dumber than animals who can’t even write.
Just because you have God’s Word doesn’t mean you know it, believe it or do it.
Jeremiah 8:20-22
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. 21For the hurt of the daughter
of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me. 22Is there no balm in
Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people
recovered?

Jerusalem is sick and they are rejecting the doctor who can help them. There is only one source
of salvation and what will you do if you neglect it?
Jeremiah 9:23,24
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory
in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that
he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness,
judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Don’t rejoice in what you have, or what wisdom you think you possess. Rejoice in one thing:
you know God, who He is and what He does.
John 8:31-36
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my
disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how
sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35And the servant abideth not in the house for
ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free
indeed.
John 8:39-44
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were
Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. 40But now ye seek to kill me, a man
that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. 41Ye do the
deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father,
even God. 42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I
proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43Why do ye
not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44Ye are of your father the
devil

Jews had God’s Word, were related to Abraham, what more do you want? He wants faith and
faith always means hearing God’s Word. You know you’ve heard it when your life grows to be
consistent with it.

It is easy to be deceived in our day. You can find a group of “believers” who look just like you
and call you to nothing higher. You can believe you have wisdom and salvation and redemption,
but you don’t, you just have an appeased conscience.

1 Corinthians 1:30,31
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and
sanctification, and redemption: 31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory
in the Lord.

Jesus Christ has been made our all. There is nothing else to be but what Christ is. In order to be
those things, we must be in Christ. There is no room for self-glorification when Christ is
everything.
Faith exists when we come after God.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith cannot be directed at seen things--faith is by hearing, not seeing.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We must have faith to be pleasing to God. We must seek after Him, diligently, with extreme
effort, hunt Him down.
The test of faith is not that you match exactly what you see, but that you diligently come after the
unseen, after God Himself. You match what you hear from God!
