Jeremiah 30:7-10
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he
shall be saved out of it. 8For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I
will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more
serve themselves of him: 9But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king,
whom I will raise up unto them. 10Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the
LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the
land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall
make him afraid.

Prophecy has immediate and fuller fulfillments. There is a time coming of severe pain and
tribulation, the time of Jacob’s trouble, or The Great Tribulation. After this, Messiah will reign in
a great kingdom of peace. Israel expects Messiah’s coming to be accompanied with crushing of
enemies.
Jeremiah 30:12,13
For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. 13There is none
to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

Israel is n bad shape, they are scattered all over and they have no restorative power..
Jeremiah 30:14,15
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound
of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy
sins were increased. 15Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the
multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

No one can help them because no one can remove their sin. They are suffering because of their
sin and there is no human cure for that.
Jeremiah 30:17
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because
they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

Salvation of Israel is God’s job, Only He can do it because He alone can remove their sins.
Jeremiah 31:31-34
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of
Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their
fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my
covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith
the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their
God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour,
and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least
of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will
remember their sin no more.

God will restore Israel and cause them to be His people doing His Word and their sins are
removed and salvation will reign for Israel.
The New Covenant is wrapped up in the Messiah. In order for the Messiah to reign and Israel’
s sins to be removed, Messiah has to suffer for them:
Matthew 26:27,28
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28For this
is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Messiah’s blood is shed for the forgiveness of sins and the establishment of a new covenant,
since the old one was faulty
Hebrews 10:28-31
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much
sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son
of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy
thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him that hath said,
Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall
judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

God has accepted the Messiah’s blood, His perfect life, as a satisfactory substitute for our sins.
Our sin is removed. Without this blood applied, we are eligible for severe judgment.
Hebrews 13:20,21
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd
of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21Make you perfect in every good
work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ;
to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Christ did not just die to save people, but to give them a new birth into a new life indwelt with
His Spirit and lived by His Word. This is all here as part of the spiritual aspect of the New
Covenant.
